It’s an American made Titanium bolt action pen based on the bolt action mechanism I came up with
several years ago.
The bolt action is becoming a pretty popular mechanism, with many folks using it lately in one form
or another. The TiBolt has recently won an award for the Best Non Knife Accessory at the 2012 Usual
Suspect Network’s Gathering against some pretty stiff competition, including pens from a well known
manufacturer and a custom pen maker. Enough about that, let’s get down to what I am offering.
What we have here is the latest iteration of the pen that I have been making for years, but with
several improvements. Instead of just one guy, the TiBolt will be built by an experienced team of
American craftsmen.

This project started out as something we made in the shop for ourselves. We use touch screen monitors and tablets, but often have to write and design on paper at the same time, and were dissatisfied with the choices available. For us, this project was born out of necessity. We needed something that could stand up to our harsh workshop environment, but it also needed to be something that we would be proud to put our name on. Four months and over a dozen revisions later we have the SPC, and we couldn’t be happier.

After several years of engineering school, I started to develop a passion for product design. I challenged myself to design an everyday object that I would be able to fabricate myself, embarking on a mission to design a pen to be carried with me every day.
Recently, the project took a different form when I decided to do a manufacturing run of these pens. The project went from design and fabrication to a mission to keep this project local in Massachusetts, keep the footprint low and to take it to market. Over the past year I have worked hard to make this happen.

While making a TA4 titanium pen from clip-to-tip is really cool and unique by itself, we felt that was not enough and challenged ourselves to add a truly revolutionary feature. Our pen accepts more refills & brands than any other pen. Ever. We like to think of it as being a refill-ninja.
