In addition, we offer free shipping for most pledges,  a variety of accessories, such as a minimalistic carbon fiber pen case, a pen pillow, to accommodate your Carbon V in your desk and a converter, which allows you to use your own ink. One can add exclusivity to the Carbon V by upgrading it with a 18k gold nib (F,M,B).

    A fountain pen is a powerful creative tool. Considered by many to be the smoothest of all writing instruments, it almost feels as if your ideas flow more freely as the nib glides effortlessly across paper. By using only the best materials, a minimal design and an excellent nib, the Nova is about creating a pen that you will look forward to create with, every day.

    By backing this project you will be helping us create a unique writing instrument. Exclusive materials such as titanium need to be purchased in bulk, so we need your help to reach the minimum orders needed make this project a reality.

     The Nova Aluminium is available in Satin Black or Comet Grey, and the Nova Titanium in a polished machined finish. Both the aluminium and titanium versions can be ordered with either a steel or titanium nib. Sets of pens are also available (see chart below).

    The Product

    SS001 is the genesis of a new line of modern ballpoint pen and is the first in the SS Collection of pens. The aim with this pen was to deliver a high quality pocket sized pen which has been achieved by combining ergonomic design with modern aesthetics.

    Most pens on the market are over-priced and do not offer value for money. SS001 bridges the gap between cost, style and function. This was a motivating factor for me to pursue the SS001 and launch it on Kickstarter.

    There are a variety of pens on the market, however; few combine the functional classic nature of the pen with the modern needs of a stylus – the SS001 caters for this modern need through an optional component.

    What makes the mk1 different?

    The Sunderland mk1 has several unique features that make it worthy to add to any serious pen collection or be the start of a new one.

    The Patent Pending Thread-On Cap:

    Our market research indicated that most pen enthusiasts prefer a screw-on cap; however, having exposed threads on the grip can be unsightly and uncomfortable to hold.  To solve these issues, we designed the threads to be hidden inside the tip of the pen, unexposed to the user.

    The Machined Clip:

    There are a lot of nice pens available, but most use a formed sheet metal clip.  We really wanted to avoid using stamped sheet metal parts on a high-quality pen, so we put extra effort into the design and manufacturing of the clip on the mk1: It is machined from a block of aerospace grade, 17-4 stainless steel.  This is the same material commonly used for jet engine components.  The clip was designed to take advantage of the extreme strength of this material, while maintaining the flexibility required for a functional clip.

    Designing the clip around a machined component gave us the opportunity to add features that are both decorative and functional. The clip flute adds style and was also used to help tune the stiffness of the clip.

    What Makes the TiScribe Different?

    TiScribe is a 100% custom machined pen made from high quality TITANIUM, COPPER, or BRASS. I looked at hundreds of pens when designing the TiScribe. Most had ugly seams, so they were removed. Most pens were plastic, so I went with exotic metals. I continued removing all non-essential components resulting in a ultra-minimalist/ultra-portable design. Below are some additional design challenges and how they were solved.

    • Titanium pocket clips standard on all pens (CNC Machined from Grade 5 Titanium)
    • A pocket sized EDC Pen (Only 4.5in long. Won’t spear you in the leg when sitting down)

    The Pen with No Name is unlike any other pen. It is machined from 6061 aluminum, contains four neodymium (rare-earth) magnets and houses the amazing Montblanc cartridges (Fineliner & Rollerball). Combined with the optional magnetic base, this will be something you can proudly display on your desk at home or work, or better yet, one for each!

    While I designed the pen to house the Fineliner cartridge, it will also take other refills such as the widely available Pilot G2 using a small spacer. However, I would highly recommend the Fineliner by Montblanc as it will make you think twice about using any other refill.

    My focus is solely on building a pen, not a brand, so you won’t find any type of branding on this pen.

    A high quality USA Made precision machined pen with a unique magnetized cap. It weighs .082lbs and is 5.037″ in length (capped). The pen body will fit standard 0.7mm gel ink refills, including the popular Pilot® G2 and others listed below. Body features a cnc machined knurled grip and a custom made screw for swapping refills. Each pen is ​​machined from 300 and 400 series surgical grade stainless steel, right here in Rhode Island.

    We were inspired by our success with the industrial themed “wave” cribbage board which we designed based on an idea and the desire to keep manufacturing local. This one idea has now spiraled to others.

    “​​Makers” at heart we decided to try our hand at pen making. We feel the end result is truly unique and expect that you will too.

    Each pen is precisely machined using a cnc swiss screw machine, laser weld, and passivated . .And the name? Well a super cool pen deserves a very cool name. E04 derives from the 304 Stainless Steel Metal used in the main body of the pen.
