    An aluminum pen that integrates a Fisher Space Pen refill, fire starter and glass break tip to function as a survival and tactical pen.

    WHAT DOES IT DO?

    • It writes with almost any refill you want to put in it.  Using an O-ring to retain/center the refill and a set screw to adjust the bore length from 2.5″ long to 4″ long you are able to swap out the Fisher cartridge for your favorite refill in under a minute.
    • It can be used to start a fire using fire piston compression technology.  Inside the cap is a cartridge packed with enough tinder to ignite around 20 coals.
    • It can be used to break a window in an emergency if you are ever trapped inside a submerged or burning car.  The pen has a hardened glass breaker tip on the back that can shatter glass with a single impact.
    • It can be used as a self defense instrument if some unfortunate soul tries to take your new favorite pen.

    The Product

    SS001 is the genesis of a new line of modern ballpoint pen and is the first in the SS Collection of pens. The aim with this pen was to deliver a high quality pocket sized pen which has been achieved by combining ergonomic design with modern aesthetics.

    Most pens on the market are over-priced and do not offer value for money. SS001 bridges the gap between cost, style and function. This was a motivating factor for me to pursue the SS001 and launch it on Kickstarter.

    There are a variety of pens on the market, however; few combine the functional classic nature of the pen with the modern needs of a stylus – the SS001 caters for this modern need through an optional component.

    What Makes the TiScribe Different?

    TiScribe is a 100% custom machined pen made from high quality TITANIUM, COPPER, or BRASS. I looked at hundreds of pens when designing the TiScribe. Most had ugly seams, so they were removed. Most pens were plastic, so I went with exotic metals. I continued removing all non-essential components resulting in a ultra-minimalist/ultra-portable design. Below are some additional design challenges and how they were solved.

    • Titanium pocket clips standard on all pens (CNC Machined from Grade 5 Titanium)
    • A pocket sized EDC Pen (Only 4.5in long. Won’t spear you in the leg when sitting down)
    • Seamless Design (No ugly lines. Feels/looks like a one piece pen)
    • Each pen is finished to a high polish (Who doesn’t like bling?)
    • Threaded Cap (Built to last! Pop tops generally wear out)
    • Cap does not post (Threads on the rear looked ugly)

    For the uninitiated, E.D.C. stands for Every Day Carry and is a popular topic of discussion regarding the need to always be prepared no matter the circumstances. EDC Ink™ is a line of high quality, rugged, and durable pens for your keychain or bag, designed so you will never be without one of the most used items in everyday life.

    THE DESIGN

    As a designer and someone that loves to travel I often find myself in need of a pen for quickly sketching an idea, making a list, or filling out the inevitable form.

    These pens are made from the classic combination of 304 stainless steel and brass; the metals helped define the design and provided the inspiration for the pure, clean aesthetic. Every part is functional and simplified to the extreme. These pens utilize the raw metal’s natural characteristics and native colors to produce the detail accents of the tip and end screw.

    These precision machined parts fit together so perfectly that the parting line between the pen barrel and cap virtually disappear, resulting in an object that hides its identity until it’s used.

    Despite their small size, the precise fit and weight of the raw metals make them feel substantial, solid, and nice to handle.

    While I love the purity of this design on its own, I often have to measure things for my work, so I added both metric and imperial measurement scales on the PRO version. I have found this added function to be incredibly useful and right there where you need it.

    A high quality USA Made precision machined pen with a unique magnetized cap. It weighs .082lbs and is 5.037″ in length (capped). The pen body will fit standard 0.7mm gel ink refills, including the popular Pilot® G2 and others listed below. Body features a cnc machined knurled grip and a custom made screw for swapping refills. Each pen is ​​machined from 300 and 400 series surgical grade stainless steel, right here in Rhode Island.

    We were inspired by our success with the industrial themed “wave” cribbage board which we designed based on an idea and the desire to keep manufacturing local. This one idea has now spiraled to others.

    “​​Makers” at heart we decided to try our hand at pen making. We feel the end result is truly unique and expect that you will too.

    Each pen is precisely machined using a cnc swiss screw machine, laser weld, and passivated . .And the name? Well a super cool pen deserves a very cool name. E04 derives from the 304 Stainless Steel Metal used in the main body of the pen.

    When a writer or illustrator picks up a premium pen, what’s the first thing they do? Feel for balance. Ink refills, tip size and ink color can be changed. Until the CB + P, a pens balance was set forever. With the CB + P, you can set the pen’s balance! No more “one-size-fits-all” weighted pens! Now you can truly make your pen, yours. How you want it to be balanced!

    The CB + P is designed around the Hi-Tec-C refill and is compatible with the Fisher Space Pen, Pilot G2 and the Uni-Ball Signo 207 refills.

    The CB + P Locking Thumb Screw:

    • Has a smooth rounded tip which glides effortlessly along the length of the pen barrel.
    • The locking screw is also made of aluminum which assures the pen barrel will not mar (I’ve tried!).
    • The amount of finger pressure needed to “lock” the counterweight is minimal.
    • The aluminum thumb screw head size is designed to be adjusted with thumb and index finger while holding the pen.

    Communication has become too impersonal. Everything is disposable. We aim to change that.

    Ink can be either a fountain or rollerball pen, giving the user their own preferred writing experience. We completely designed Ink from scratch, using high quality parts and materials. The grip section of Ink comes in either aluminum, brass or copper. This gives Ink the look and feel of a high dollar, custom pen, but because we make the pen ourselves, we are able to offer it at a fraction of the price of other custom pens.
